Okuma Corporation received the prestigious MM Award (best multifunction machine) at this year's EMO, for its LASER EX Series of next-generation super multitasking machines.

The MM-Awards are given by Maschinen Markt (MM), a highly-respected manufacturing industry journal centered in Germany, to outstanding and innovative products and new technologies in various fields. This is the sixth time Okuma has won this award.

These new laser machines represent the ultimate fusion of multi-tasking applications. By combining the best of both subtractive and additive manufacturing, Okuma made it possible to offer "process-intensive" turning, milling, and grinding, along with laser hardening and coating—to complete a blank-to-finished product operation—on one machine.
