- Technology used in the MP-46V, Okuma’s vertical machining center for high-precision parts and dies/molds, wins Technology Award at 23rd Japanese Society of Die/Mold Technology Awards
- 09 May 2013
The technology for which the award was received was the “development of the MP-46V machining center for high-precision parts and dies/molds,” of which the thermal deformation reduction technology that achieves connection steps of ≤2 μm and vibration suppression technology that achieves a 20% reduction in machining time were cited.
The Japanese Die/Mold Technology Awards are presented to outstanding die/mold technologies that contribute significantly to the field. The awards were established with the purpose of promoting advances in die/mold technology and the die industry, and Okuma is proud to be honored again this year.
Okuma previously received the Technology Award at the 15th Japanese Society of Die/Mold Technology Awards for our NC data analysis tool to improve die/mold machining surface quality, and the Technology Award at the 20th Japanese Society of Die/Mold Technology Awards for our linear motor that operates on a new principle and a design for highly accurate compensation in responding to thermal deformation.
