Okuma @ IMTEX 2007 (India)
30 Jan 2007
Bangalore—India held its 13th Indian Machine Tool Exhibition with “International Participation” this past 18 – 24 January 2007, for the first time in Bangalore, the hub of India’s machine tool industry. IMTEX is held once every three years, and is the largest show in South and South-East Asia.

Okuma was part of the overseas crowd (half of the total 1,163 exhibitors), and displayed at its booth the MA-500HB Horizontal Machining Center, featuring the award winning Thermal Friendly Concept. Okuma’s design provides superb thermal deformation compensation, and has been the forerunner of this type of technology promising improved thermostability. Also in the booth was the Soarer L270-II, a compact CNC Lathe boasting sales of more than 4,800 units, and also features components designed to provide superior rigidity and minimal thermal deformation.

Receiving huge crowds of visitors everyday, IMTEX 2007 appeared to boost the “feel good” factor already predominant within India’s machine tool industry, and serve as the launch-pad of its globalization process.
