Global CS Center and Memorial Gallery open
03 Jun 2008
Okuma has opened two new facilities on its World Headquarters grounds. The Global CS Center serves as a showroom for all the latest from Okuma, while the Memorial Gallery displays key products from Okuma's history.

The Global CS Center includes a display area with more than 30 machines on permanent display; a presentation area to introduce the latest machining technologies and applications; and an NC School where visitors can deepen their understanding of Okuma machine tools in a short time through effective curricula and practical training. The Global CS Center will enhance communication with customers to help them overcome difficulties through technical innovations and information on advanced technology. It is a place where people can feel the pleasure of monozukuri, or “making things.”

The Memorial Gallery offers a view of Okuma's past, with exhibits ranging from the noodle-making machine on which the company was founded to the LB15, a model that was central in spreading the use of NC machine tools worldwide. The more than 20 machines and controls on display in the Gallery all gave rise to innovations in their time. The exhibits serve as a broad introduction to the importance of machine technology and the contributions it has made to society, while also letting visitors feel the joy of monozukuri.

The “Okuma Machine Fair 2008—Celebrating 110 Years” was held in conjunction with the opening of these two facilities on May 20ø24.

The theme for the Fair was “Advanced innovations on a new stage. A new era led by Only-One technologies of single source for machine and control, built on 110 years of trust.” The Fair was a great success with over 8,000 people visiting during the 5 days, and more than 40 major machines on display. We would like to thank everyone who attended.
