Yuji Kawamura, a member of our Manufacturing Division, received the Medal with Yellow Ribbon for the third year of Reiwa (2021) Autumn Medal category.

The Medal with Yellow Ribbon is an award given to "Individuals devoted to working diligently in agriculture, commerce, and industry, and who have served as exemplars of technical expertise with significant achievements."

Kawamura is one of our leaders in the assembly and repair of spindle units for grinders which, among machine tools, require extremely high accuracy. In recent years with Mr Kawamura's leadership, Okuma has increased efforts to provide guidance and skills development for young and new employees.
Mr Kawamura also received an Outstanding Engineer (Master Craftsman) Award from the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare in the second year of Reiwa (2020).

As a "Comprehensive Monozukuri Service" company, Okuma will continue to spread throughout society the spirit of respect for human skills, and foster "Engineers with Excellence" through global manufacturing based on master craftsmanship.
