- 07 Nov 2016
Okuma employees who developed the “control technology for shorter machining times and the maintenance of machining accuracy,” a basic technology for SERVONAVI, received the 2016 (12th) Japan Society for Precision Engineering Young Engineer Award.
The Japan Society for Precision Engineering Young Engineer Award is given to up-and-coming researchers and engineers who have made significant achievements in the field of precision engineering with originality and foresight. It aims to both honor their efforts and devotion and heighten their strong motivation for research.
Awarded Technology
Control technology for shorter machining times and the maintenance of machining accuracy
Recipients
・Masahiro Maeda
・Takeshi Sakai
The “control technology for shorter machining times and the maintenance of machining accuracy” developed by the employees who received this award is a basic technology for Okuma’s SERVONAVI, which optimizes servo control.
SERVONAVI automatically adjusts to the best servo control parameters in response to changes in machine conditions, such as workpiece weight or changes over time. It can shorten machining time while maintaining machining accuracy, and makes it possible to use the machine in a stable state over long times.
